Model Selection of Milling Machine Laymatic Series

In automotive design, speed and iteration quality depend on how quickly you can turn digital data into physical clay models—and repeat that cycle without friction.
Laymatic focuses on reducing lead time across the full loop so your team can make more decisions for accelerate your design process.

Futuristic & Reliable

Industry Leading Milling Machine for Car and Motorcycle Design

The Laymatic Series gives design studios and model shops a clear, four-model lineup that scales from ultra-light, mobile deployment to large-format production models. Choose Mill-X when flexibility and easy relocation matter, Mill-Z for fast, high-precision modeling, Mill-XS when you need compact cells with safety-first autonomy, and Mill-7 for big parts with clean, consistent finishes. One platform—four focused roles.

4 Things to Consider First

01

Target Material &
Finish

The required surface finish will determine your spindle and tool selection.

02

Speed & Overnight Use

Do you need high-speed milling? Will you run the machine overnight without an operator to increase productivity?

03

Layout Requirements

Do you need a fixed machine in a dedicated room, or a mobile solution that can be moved easily between surface plates?

04

Operation &
Maintenance

Consider your team's capability for NC editing, training requirements, and the level of preventive maintenance needed.

Speed & Automation Priority

Laymatic Mill-Z

Ideal for maximum throughput. It features linear motor drives and robust collision avoidance, making it the perfect choice for 24/7 unattended night-time operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have a service technician based in California and maintain local inventory to ensure prompt service and parts availability.

In most cases, the control box is installed separately from the machine in order to reduce the overall weight of the milling unit. However, we can also provide a solution where the control unit is embedded under the floor if required.

Our system is equipped with multiple safety features, including an anti-collision system and an AI-based safety camera to enhance operational safety.

With the fixed-type configuration, we can provide a complete wireless system with a flush surface installation.

The lead time depends on the machine model and setup. Typically, it is approximately 5 months for the Laymatic Mill-X portable type and 12 months for the Laymatic Mill-Z fixed type.

Machines such as the Laymatic Mill-X and Laymatic Mill-Z are primarily designed for clay milling. Under certain conditions, they can also process foam and resin.
Machines such as the Laymatic Mill-7 can process clay, resin, and foam.

The maximum model size depends on the machine model and configuration. Please contact us or download the catalog for the specifications of each machine.

After the calibration, the head rotation accuracy is within 0.05 mm.

Our system is compatible with most CAM software. (e.g., Mastercam, Powermill, CATIA, TEBIS) We can provide the necessary machine data and sample to the CAM vendor to generate the appropriate post-processor.

We recommend annual maintenance and calibration to maintain optimal accuracy and performance. However, the maintenance schedule may vary depending on the customer’s usage and requirements.

Each model is designed for different applications, workspace environments, and production needs.
